About Us

Matt & Keira Perella formed Camp K-9 because they see too many owners struggling with giving their companions the proper training they need to live a fun, peaceful life together. We like to prioritize training in our home, as this is the most efficient way to achieve a well-mannered dog. During your pup's stay, they will be immersed in our home and day-tolives to give them a realistic expectation of home obedience. We take in a small number of dogs to ensure each one has their needs individually tailored.  

Matt has a background in rescuing death row dogs with extreme aggression problems and turning them into service dogs for veterans with PTSD.  He has changed the lives of many dogs with severe behavioral issues that stemmed from their previous owners not giving the dogs the discipline and direction needed to be well-behaved canines both at home and in populated public places.  Matt has transformed some of the most viscous dogs into service dogs.  Service dogs are the most disciplined dogs you'll see out in public as they are not allowed to bark at other dogs, show any sign of aggression towards humans or other animals, sniff people, beg for food, pull on a leash, or have bathroom accidents in stores or places of work.  Regardless of your dog's personality, Matt will be passionate in helping you and your pup develop a bond dog handlers dream of.  

From a young age, Keira always knew she wanted to work with dogs. She joined her first training drill team at age 10. Her passions followed her into adulthood, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare followed by a master's degree in Zoology from one of the leading universities in the world.  After earning her degrees, Keira worked and learned alongside some of the country's top canine trainers.  Learning from top industry professionals, Keira developed a versatile platform of different dog training styles. Keira also has experience working with a wide variety of breeds of all ages, which has properly seasoned her to assist owners with various training needs.
